Exercise can help keep aches away

Just yesterday I had a 33 year old gentleman present with low back pain which he gets periodically from time to time and of no apparent reason.  Stopp_Back_Pain

Upon taking his case history it became evident that he laid a sedentary lifestyle in that he did no form of exercise whatsoever. He basically sat on his backside all day at the computer either in London or at home.

He did mention that when he was more active he did not get any back problems and therefore here lies the problem.

We humans are not meant to be sitting all day every day. Too many of us commute to and from work, sit at a desk most of the day and then return home to sit watching television in the evening. The body is not being utilised and therefore problems do begin to arise.

People often state that they are too busy to have time to exercise!

Well there are 24 hours in a day and I’m sure if you put your mind to it you could find at least a half hour 3 to 4 times a week to at least go for a brisk walk.

At Joy Lane Clinic we pride ourselves in not only treating our patients to aid recovery from their injuries but also providing advice on exercise and rehabilitation programmes to help prevent the problem reoccurring.

We work closely with  Pilates and personal training instructors and therefore our aim is to tailor an exercise regime that best suits our patient’s so that it can easily fit into their busy lifestyles.
