Gemma Geake

Gemma GeakeFoot Health Practitioner

Gemma is a qualified Foot Health Practitioner, having gained her Diploma in Foot Health in 2017 at the SMAE Institute in Maidenhead. Her qualification followed a comprehensive course delving deep into anatomy of the lower limbs and learning in depth about conditions affecting the feet and nails, as well as spending clinical training hours under the guidance of podiatrist tutors, giving her the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat a host of foot conditions and help provide you with a lifetime of healthy feet.

Treatments include nail trimming, treatment of corns and callus, ingrown toenails (non-surgical), reduction of thickened nails, fungal skin and nail infections, management of verrucae and fixing of cracked heels. She is also qualified and insured for the treatment of diabetics and those taking blood thinning medications.

Alongside her work in foot health, she also holds an NVQ 2 qualification in pharmaceutical services and works part time in a GP practice as a prescribing advisor. This gives her an in depth understanding of prescribed medications and medical conditions, many of which can influence the feet both directly and indirectly.

In her spare time she is a competition shooter and enjoys nothing more than spending time at her local rifle range; honing her skills and, being the only female member in the club, trying her best to beat the boys (very much a work in progress!). She is also rather a sucker for computer games and interesting stationery!
